Everything in harmony with tradition Slate tile Everything has been designed in an attempt to reveal the beauty of folk Slate tile craftsmanship and the practicality of traditional buildings. Everything has been designed in an attempt to reveal the beauty of folk craftsmanship and the practicality of traditional buildings. At an altitude of 395 in a protected forest ("NATURA 2000") with royal oak trees, architect Giannis Exarchou renovated with a special respect the folk architecture of Slate tile, a task more than 100 years old. Tasks (or Kotsikes) are traditional Cycladic stone and farm buildings. Each space is at a different level, since the whole building follows roughly the shape of the ground that is seated. The long walls of each space are built externally vertically, while internally they are inwardly called (freestanding) to reduce the gap that the beams have to cover. The roof is made of shale slabs, cement floors and the walls of the local slate. Architect Yannis Exarchou restored the farm building, retaining all its traditional features, without any cost. He drew wooden solid furniture and for the horizontal surfaces of the kitchen he used a cement mortar in an attempt to create simple, simple and practical spaces. Everything has been designed in an effort to uncover the beauty of Slate tile craftsmanship and the practicality of traditional buildings, while simplicity allows the eye to move indiscriminately towards the eastern Cyclades. Andros, Tinos, Mykonos and Kythnos are the islands in which the view stops.
